The Museum needed guidance as to how to accept a property as a nonprofit. A trust was explored.Glen was one of the nicest and most knowledgable attorneys I have worked with who really understands how nonprofits work. He was patient and very easy to contact. We communicated by phone and email.

Glen was most helpful to explain alternatives such as a trust and or simple deed. We did accept the property to the Prospect House through a deed scenario.

We also were eligible to use the property for a bed and breakfast under the name of the Organization as part of our programming and history. He also reviewed our status plan to do this and acknowledged he didn’t think there was a problem as long as it was part of the original planning and historical objectives.

I would recommend Glen to any nonprofit for questions and/or making plans for a project.

We would use Glen again in a heartbeat. He knows how to communicate with novice people and works very hard to accomplish your wished. We were very lucky to have Glen!

Nonprofit Real Estate Issues

Glen assisted our organization as legal counsel related to complex land deal between a nonprofit entity a city and a county government

All issues were resolved in the best possible way. It was very complicated on many levels, requiring assembly of a lot of information, researching implications of various options, and negotiating completion of many documents among private individuals, a nonprofit entity and two government agencies.

Recommendation

It was very good working with Glen. He was detailed, methodical and clear in communications, and readily available when it was necessary to move forward.

Real Estate and Corporate Law

McCluskey Law Office fixed  a twenty year old gap in the chain of title for the real property I manage.

This matter was particularly challenging as it required repeated contact with the County Recorder, whom we found to be difficult to negotiate with. That, following what I considered a major effort with the Secretary of State to address corporate factors in our title deficiencies, was frustrating and enormously time consuming.

Glen’s patience, persistence, and knowledge of the process were rewarded with a new Certificate of Title for my property, and clear sailing into the future with our title mattes. I seriously doubt that most other attorneys would have brought this matter to fruition without bringing it before a judge. I would recommend to anyone that any and all title matters be taken to Glen for a competent resolution!

I found Glen always available to answer my questions, prompt in his response time, thorough in his explanations, and reasonable in his billing. Glen also provided guidance in the creation of our new lease agreements, which was insightful and understanding as we were trying to reach beyond ordinary and irrelevant boilerplate language.

Also, his sense of humor kept the difficulties in perspective.

Recommendation

Glen McCluskey provided me with above average competence resolving complicated real property title issues. His patience, persistence, and friendly demeanor were accompanied by an affordable rate that has left my associates and I wonderfully glad. There is no one else to whom I would turn for legal help in our title and corporate matters.

Fiscal Agent for Nonprofit

Mr. McCluskey provided our small nonprofit organization with his professional opinion regarding several specific questions we had regarding the do’s and don’ts for a nonprofit to serve as a fiscal sponsor for an organization that does not have 501c3 status.

I appreciated Mr. McCluskey’s prompt replies to both emails and phone calls.  Also, he permitted me to hone my questions, so that we were able to obtain the specific guidance we needed.

Recommendation

I particularly appreciated how approachable and personable Mr. McCluskey was for follow-up questions, particularly via several phone calls.  And, perhaps most importantly, his two letters detailing the legal basis for his professional opinions and guidance were thorough and well-researched. I was able to achieve my objective!

Entrepreneurial Startup

Glen helped me to obtain my LLC, advising me on the best structure for my particular business. He also wrote a contract for me and a business partner, helping me structure an agreement that was favorable to both parties and far outside the realm of whatever I might be able to come up with on my own.

Glen helped me understand the complexities behind my business questions. When obtaining my LLC, Glen advised me on what structure I should pursue and explained to me the benefits/drawbacks of each option. He also helped me design and write a contract that addressed my unique business needs. Above all else however, Glen explained complex legal terminology in a way I could understand, ultimately helping me to make more strategic and well-informed decisions.

Recommendation

Glen was absolutely critical in turning my business from a mere concept into an actual entity. I really can’t express how grateful I am to have had this legal assistance. Without Glen’s assistance, I would have potentially found myself with many legal woes down the road. Formal contact writing is really something that requires an expert and I am so glad to have found that.

Thank you so much for your help Glen! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

Living Trust and Estate Planning

I received advice from Glen regarding elder law and estate planning issues. When I decided to set up a living trust, I hired Glen as my attorney.

The thing I found most convenient was that nearly everything could be handled through email, so I never actually met Glen or went to his office.  He responded to any questions that I had very

The rate I was charged was also very reasonable.

Recommendation

I would not hesitate to recommend Glen McCluskey to anyone looking for competent, thorough, reasonable priced attorney services.

City-Based Festival Foundation

Glen provided us with the guidance and formats to start at ‘square one’ for creating and submitting the required information needed to create our 501 ( c) 3 Foundation.  Glen conducted the interviews to record and supply the necessary information that is needed to process and file all the paperwork with government agencies.

When an organization knows where it wants to be, yet does not, or is unsure of how to get there, a professional business such as Nonprofit Launch and Legal Services, PLLC is who you want to deal with.  We were just that, we knew we wanted to create a Foundation, but were unsure as where to start, what was needed and who could assist us.  Glen McCluskey, the ‘friend’ that was there for us and guided us to the final outcome of becoming a 501 ( c) 3 Educational Foundation.  Glen made it work and look so easy.  He even was ‘spot on’ when he estimated our IRS approval date.

Recommendation

If any organization is looking for someone to make them a nonprofit organization, the staff of Nonprofit Launch and Legal Services, LLC will certainly be my first recommendation.  There is no one easier to work with, competitively priced, and thoroughly professional than Glen McCluskey.  You will be glad you contacted him!

Health and Wellness Nonprofit

Our nonprofit organization needed assistance in seeking our 501(c) 3 exemption in a short time. We had had someone in our group working on the IRS Tax Exemption Application for 9 months only to find out 6 weeks before it was due that nothing had been done.

Glen was invaluable to our process as none of us had experience filing for the non-profit status. We talked with him once a week on a conference call line. Our appointments were scheduled for 30 minutes but went over the time limit if the meeting topics had not been addressed. Glen read through the application with us, giving us recommendations on what we needed to change or add. If we had questions they were answered on the spot. Glen’s sense of timing and clear instructions were imperative to us not only filing on time but also, we believe, for receiving our non-profit status in record time.

The Qigong Connection would recommend Glen for any legal needs. His clarity, easy manner, knowledge and commitment not only saved us time, but empowered us to go through the process clearly, efficiently and with an understanding. In the short time we worked with him he helped us go from point a to point b in record time. No words can express our appreciation to him.
